"I would like to share my exceptional experience with Marine Connection in West Palm Beach, Florida, where I purchased my COBIA 320 boat in March 2020. From the very start, I have entrusted them with all my maintenance needs, and I can genuinely say that every interaction with their dedicated team has been nothing short of exceptional. However, what I recently experienced truly stands out and deserves to be highlighted.
When I scheduled my 300-hour service with Tom, the service manager, I discovered a crack in the port lower unit just before bringing the boat in. To make matters more stressful, I discovered that my Yamaha warranty had expired five days earlier. After reaching out on the Facebook COBIA page, I realized that I wasn’t alone in facing this issue; several others had encountered similar defects in the casting of the lower unit. Still, I felt anxious and worried knowing my warranty had expired and there was no certainty that Yamaha would replace the unit.
Thankfully, Tom reached out to me on the Facebook page, reassuring me by saying, “Ron, don’t worry, we will make a claim to Yamaha for a new lower unit when you drop off the boat for service.” Hearing that lifted a huge weight off my shoulders. When I brought the boat in, Tom not only reassured me but also strongly committed to advocating for a replacement lower unit from Yamaha. I was amazed when, just six weeks later, Yamaha sent a brand-new lower unit, with the team at Marine Connection keeping pressure on them throughout the process.
Beyond the lower unit, I had also accumulated a list of repairs — my table didn’t work, a couple of latches were broken, and there were various fiberglass and gel coat fixes needed. Tom meticulously went through the boat, addressing these repairs and noticing several other issues I hadn’t even recognized needed attention. He took care of everything with such care and charged an incredibly reasonable fee. I was genuinely relieved to know that in any other situation, those repairs would have been significantly higher. When I picked up the boat, it was pristine—washed and cleaned to perfection.
As I launched it into the water, the boat was running beautifully, and every fix was done exceptionally well. The team at Marine Connection is fantastic, but it’s Tom who truly stands out for his extraordinary dedication. His unwavering commitment to customer service and attention to detail is beyond anything I’ve ever experienced. The very next day, Tom took the initiative to call and check on my satisfaction. I shared that the boat was running great, but I did notice a small water leak while flushing the motor at home. While I knew it wasn’t a significant issue, I appreciated Tom’s willingness to help.
Without hesitation, he arranged for his mobile mechanic to come out the next day. Sure enough, the mechanic arrived promptly and tightened a loose fitting, resolving the issue instantly. Time after time, this experience reinforced for me what exceptional customer service looks like.
