National Safe Boating Week is May 16th-22nd

There’s no excuse to not wearing a life jacket. This year, during National Safe Boating Week, Marine Connection reminds you to boat responsibly with our #noliveslost campaign.

As usual, the National Safe Boating Council has a lot of valuable information and resources via their website. Check out this helpful article on how-to choose the right life jacket for the right activity.

After two years in the making, the United States Coast Guard has come out with the first mobile application for boating safety!

“The U.S. Coast Guard statistics show that drowning was the reported cause of death in three-fourths of recreational boating fatalities in 2014, and that 84 percent of those who drowned were not wearing life jackets…
New recreational boating statistics released by U.S. Coast Guard also show Florida ranks number one in the nation for boating accidents.”
