Importing a boat to Australia
Without question, southeast Florida enjoys the largest selection of clean used boats at the lowest prices in the world. With exchange rates at the most favorable levels in a generation, you are dollars ahead to by-pass the limited Australian home market, and export directly from the United States.
Marine Connection has been assisting export
buyers worldwide for over twenty years. With a portfolio of over eight
thousand export transactions, we are experts at providing the most value, safety, and security for your investment.
The export process:
- Consult with one of our experienced Export Sales Associates to choose the best boat for your needs from our extensive inventory. Upon agreement to purchase, your deposit can be conveniently processed via the PayPal service or on a credit card over the phone with your Sales Associate.
- Shipping will be either Roll-on/Roll-off (RORO) with your boat on a trailer or cradle or with the boat packed inside a shipping container. Marine Connection will advise and arrange the appropriate and most cost effective method to meet your needs.
- If the boat is shipped RORO, Marine Connection recommends protecting your investment in transit with a full shrink wrap.
- Do you need a trailer? Marine Connection can provide trailers configured to meet the Australian regulations. If you ultimately plan to purchase a trailer, purchasing it for export will eliminate your cost for a cradle when shipping RORO. Your Sales Associate can provide details on trailers.
- Upon preparation of the boat, and arranged shipping, payment in full will be made prior to releasing the boat for transport. Payment may be made via a bank wire transfer.
- Shipping times will vary depending on the type of service chosen by the customer. Marine Connection can offer services varying in transit time from six to ten weeks.
- Upon release for transport all purchase and import documents will be forwarded to you. This includes shipment information to allow you to track your shipment.
- Approximate professional costs in Australia:
- Duty: None (pending customs acceptance of proper documentation)
- G.S.T.: 10% of Customs Value, Freight, Insurance & Duty
- Duty: None (pending customs acceptance of proper documentation)
